A concrete love affair

Concrete Connections

The A14 rushes towards its designations end at Leicestershire's Catthorpe Interchange with the route now continuing a free-flowing link direct to the M6 and its myriad of places beyond. The concrete textures on the supporting walls were beautiful so I couldn't resist a bit of in-camera combination..

Part of my project on Leicestershire bridges, each seems to have a transitive quality I am rather taken by, Look at this bridge for example, it carries the dual carriageway across the River Welland and in doing so from Northamptonshire into Leicestershire. A boundary defining feature connecting this landlocked county to far off Felixstowe a terminus by the sea, here we have a nodal point where a terminus is impossible to find.

I also include Stoney Bridge in my Extra Photos. It carries the original alignment of the Fosseway across the River Soar not far from the village of Sapcote.

Ive identified many many more bridges while researching this project.. Many more to photograph, many more to blip!
