TINY TUESDAY

Last year the success rate with our butternut squashes was zero - but this year we are hoping that we have lots of them - the promise is certainly there.

Mr. HCB has been tending them well, and they’re looking good, so perhaps in a few weeks his patience and devotion will mean that we are eating our own butternut squashes - and of course, now that I am on a diet of mostly fruit and vegetables, this will not only help me, but will save some money too.  This little bud is only 10 mm long, but we are willing it to grow.

Of course, a lot depends on the weather, so we are hoping that we have a lovely warm and sunny spell during August and September - It is sunny this morning, but there is a decided nip in the air.  Ah well, we can only hope.
