THE TIME HAS COME....

.... well the Alternative Olympic Games (AOG) has again been high on the agenda of the media with all the who ha going on!

You may recall seeing team Corella being in camp very early to acclimatise to the heat conditions, even though the track and field were well off. At that time there was talk of team Lorikeet the real speedsters and last years winners, not even entering??

Well, a buzz went around the stadium today as the first of team Lorikeet hit the track.
Rocket Red as he is known, the gold medallist from four years back in the 100 metre dash was sighted feeding in one of the local camellia cafes. You can see in the pic he gets his name due his fancy for the red camellia nectar. Also note he is not backward in letting loose with a mouthful of cheek....

Enjoy, and have a look in LARGE

His first practice run this morning (seen in extra) was so blistering fast, the camera boys had issues getting a shot in focus!!

And for Tiny Tuesday hosted by JDO have put an extra in showing our first sign of Spring coming with the flowering prunus buds starting to pop!!!

... Normal Olympics saw history this morning with the Aussie girls Rugby 7's team taking the gold against our all time rivals in most sports New Zealand. What a game, and the first time played at an Olympics so very special. Made even more special with fact that the team was hand picked four years ago from sport's women of all quarters never playing Rugby before. And, here they are on the Gold podium, a superb sporting achievement.
