Crocosmia

As the grandchildren plus parents are back for a few days it has to be a quick garden flower blip. I have always had a fascination for flowers that bud and flower in sequence and these crocosmia certainly fit the bill. Fortunately we have a sufficiently large number of blooms that I was able to pick my spot, as it were, to get the most neutral background. Though it has to be said that this shot was the last one of at least a dozen shots. The more time you spend photographing essentially the same subject the more fussy and precise you become about the overall composition even when as  on this occasion, it is handheld
