Seashore finds

Ollie and I had a very wet walk along the beach at Pool o' Cletts this afternoon.  Misty with heavy penetrating drizzle but warm and flat calm.
Needless to say there wasn't a soul in sight, not even a seal, but I did find some skate egg cases.  The blue plant is Oyster Plant, Mertensia maritima.  It's pretty rare elsewhere, but we are lucky enough to still have some up here, and the bright green one is a sea saltwort.  Both are edible apparently . . .  We are sticking to courgettes, of which we have plenty!

Extra is a close up of the egg cases.  Initially I think they are Smallspotted Catshark ones.
