Coppery Headed Emerald Hummingbird

Working through some old shots from a trip to Costa Rica in 2014 and found this one which had slipped by in my first review. It's amazing how often that happens and is, I suppose, an indication that you should take a step back after a trip and not dive in when you're still excited.

This coppery headed emerald was feeding in some flowers near a feeder setup at a reserve in Monteverde in Costa Rica. 

Anyone who's remotely interested in birds or bird photography should put Costa Rica on their to do list, it's simply stunning.
