A fitting tribute

Mr U&l and I went for a day out today to Bexhill in East Sussex where his grandparents Arthur and Hannah had lived. He has some very special memories of visiting them and watching the steam trains on the turntable at the end of their garden, sadly the years have passed and I know he has been really wanting to visit their final resting place in Bexhill cemetery for a few years now. Luckily he remembered more or less where the grave was, and he managed to locate it even though the gravestone was now flat on the ground and covered with mud! A bit of water and scrubbing soon made it bright and readable again, and I have added a shot of him sitting beside it in my extras.
While he was doing this I went for a wander round this huge and interesting cememtery, and found this wonderful stone fireman! (not quite your usual angel!) The inscription reads
'Erected by the inhabitants of the borough in greatful rmrmberance of
Fireman SYDNEY ALBERT WISE, who died on 23rd September 1924 through injuries received in the execution of his duty'
What a lovely tribute!
