Watercolour castle

A rather frustrating, non-stop day doing lots of those little chores that don't seem to amount to much when you look back.

Then, late afternoon, I packed the picnic hamper and MrM and I set off for Bamburgh where he was playing with the Jazz band at BFest. It's a charity event organised by HospiceCare Northumberland and, this year, took place on the Green in front of Bamburgh Castle - a fabulous setting (extra). We joined some friends and the rest of the jazz band, and it was a very pleasant evening spent eating, drinking and listening to music. However, it wasn't exactly a balmy summer's evening (heatwave - what heatwave?!) and, by 9.30pm most of us were feeling rather chilly, despite wearing several layers!

So MrM and I took the picnic basket back to the car, and went for a walk on the beach with Louie. Stunning views of Bamburgh Castle as it was getting dark. Not a good photo in itself, the Blip is one of my favourites of several shots of the castle as the lights came on. It's so grainy that it looks rather like a watercolour painting.
