Signs and Portents

First signs of Autumn's approach in the garden.  This is Prospero autumnale, although I knew  it as Scilla autumnalis for many years before recent taxonomic revisions.  Also in bloom is Acis autumnale (was Leucojum autumnale) and the first flower on Cyclamen hederifolium.

Portents from Wales are a little more positive than yesterday.  Ruth slept well and is looking at a possible exit from hospital tomorrow.  Travel back to base and care issues may complicate things but we live in hope.
