Migrant in Moscow

A promising day ended by persistent rain. I thought this image captured it well.

This is Arbatskaya Metro Station. Opened in 1935 and one of the first stations in Moscow. The communists demolished a 17th century church to make way for the station (the Tikhon Temple named after the Cypriot Orthodox Bishop - this is what the temple looked like in circa 1877).  Reportedly, the builders placed a concrete mixer inside the church and used the rubble from the demolition to build the foundations for the subway station!
