Uninhabited house, Fajezinha, Flores

Our last day on the island of Flores. After breakfast we went out for a walk before packing for the flight to Sao Miguel, a few hundred miles to the east.
We had a couple of apples left which we chopped in half and took to the pigs who live in a ( sadly rather small) sty behind the house next door. They ate them with great gusto and a chorus of enthusiastic grunting.

This empty house is in the pretty, traditional village of Fajezinha on the west coast of Flores. We were unable to find the reasons why it is empty but there was a pile of tiles and building materials stored nearby which gave the impression that there may be plans to renovate it. I hope so; it's a real beauty.

Thanks to admirer for hosting Derelict Sunday during August.
