Flowerdale

Colin and I did something today that we've meant to do for years, the Flowerdale Waterfalls walk. It was well worth it! Fabulous views of Gairloch Bay, the scent of the heather which was in full bloom, the waterfalls themselves which were quite spectacular because of the amount of rain this last few days.In the afternoon we headed up to Poolewe for mass in the wee Scottish Episcopal Church there, at St. Maelrubha's chapel, a lovely wee church where we were made very welcome. It's a short run in the car from Gairloch to Poolewe but the views over Gairloch and down Loch Maree are spectacular, and of the river Ewe itself. Back home for an Olympics fest crowned by that fabulous game of tennis and Andy Murray's second Olympic Gold medal. All in all a day to remember.
