Giants & big-heads!

Stopping for lunch in Ribadeo, where there's a local festival with these striking 'gigantes (Cocos) y cabezudos', together with traditional musicians and dancers.

The lush landscape and swiftly changing weather reminds me of Scotland. We are under stormy clouds at the moment yet this morning it was blue sky and sunshine as we took a wonderful walk along the Praia de Augas Santas (Beach of Holy Waters).

This part of the Galician / Catabrian coast is better known as the beach of the Cathedrals, as the natural monument coast features immense arches and caves - spectacular.

The food has been outstanding - last night local seafood including razor clams, gooseneck barnacles (bit like the toes of a reptile), lobster, crab, prawns; and lunch today was octopus, cockles, mussels, and fish stew (one of the guests is allergic to seafood!!)
