When our woodworking course instructor showed us this technique for rip-sawing, we thought he was kidding -- the funny cardboard hat didn't help his credibilty. He eventually convinced us he was serious.

We all used it for this step in the project, and found that it worked. The second surprise -- it wasn't as difficult as it looked.
