Sgwarnog: In the Field

By sgwarnog

Small Copper

It was very quiet in Shipley's "Big Field", despite the sunshine, but at the far end there was this very fresh looking Small Copper whcih made the visit worthwhile.  The blue spots on the hindwings are unusual, but a known aberration: ab. caeruleopunctata. See extras for another angle.

Back in Baildon I caught a fleeting glimpse of a Holly Blue in St. John's graveyard, but too distant for a photo. And there was another nice Peacock in the community garden (extras).
