Cloudburst

Because of the weird way the pavements are built - rising up to the road - and the way the houses' down pipes then also direct the water from the roofs onto the pavement, if there's any rain the pavement quickly fills with water to the point where you can be fighting your way against quite strong current.

Today the heavens opened and I was soaked to the skin in the course of a five minute's walk across the park, and when I got to the other side I was greeted by this flood tide
