Grasshopper ...

This Sunday started beautifully. Sun, a bit wind, some clouds and an average temperature of 22°C in the afternoon.

We planned to go to the Gardens at Viels-Maisons at a distance of a 100 km south of Laon.

The gardens are right next to a Romanesque church. They are remarkable gardens, more than once awarded by for instance the French National Horticultural Society (the Prix Bonpland) and a Garden Award of the Ministry of Culture.

It was fantastic! So many different plants, trees and flowers and very originally arranged. For example an English Garden, a Parish Priest Garden and a garden of a story of Monsieur Jean de La Fontaine.

We made a lot of pictures of course but the iPhone snapshots were not enough to publish contrary to the pictures made with the regular used camera.

So I chose to make a macro photo. In the English Garden I found a flowering rose with between its petals a small, green grasshopper. It's sitting there in what looks as a defensive pose and seems to be prepared to jump away (which it did indeed) ... ;)
