Stinkhorn

We had a stroll in Dodd Wood today to dodge the showers and smelled this before we saw it.

The stinkhorn fungi (Phallus impudicus) attracts flies through it's rather disgusting smell, the flies carry the spores off on their feet.

There was a bit of a choice of blip today, it could have been this rather gory sign that someone had decorated or these sheep that obviously had a bit of a beef about the local bovines, or this bracken that took my fancy.

Some more heavy rain today but no more floods thankfully :)
