This retired lightship is now a museum piece at the harbourside in Zeebrugge. You can read about it here.
This one was originally built in 1950. The anchor chains securing the vessel in position would have passed through the large hole at the front and sides of the ship. Nowadays, the lightships have been replaced by unmanned light platforms or buoys which are cheaper to operate and maintain.
As it is wide angle Wednesday, I thought I would take a wacky wide angled shot from very close to the vessel. (about 4 ft). Without knowing what you are looking at, it's not immediately obvious what it is.
