Building

Dash into the office for a while before heading to Paisley to meet up with (part of) a group I've been on a journey with for 9 years now (extra). Unfortunately a few of our regular members couldn't be with us this time but nevertheless, as always, interesting and useful discussions and a lot of laughter.
Spent a chunk of the afternoon at Sandy Stoddart's sculpting studio. In the photo he's explaining how he's starting to make a clay full size model of Joan of Arc, building it onto a steel frame that he makes (you can see it taking shape even though it's basically a stick figure at the moment) and scaling it up from the small white clay figure on the right (in turn scaled up from the little black original further to the right).
His workshop was fascinating and crammed with previous works and copies of many of his most famous pieces, including the new Playfair statue soon to be officially unveiled outside the Nationsl Museum in Chambers St.
