Birthday moment

A moment captured, as birthday girl Catriona and her cousin Alan concentrate on the hidden contents of a piñata birthday cake (who knew there was such a thing?) 

After a week in the sunshine, the rain followed us to Edinburgh for this 9th birthday celebration together. By the time the boys left all four children were bouncing off the ceiling (aided by a considerable sugar boost) and their parents (and grandparents) were visibly wilting. 

And now we've all gone to our own corners of the realm as normal life looms. But first ... sleep.
