Gnome King

Emma traveled to Split, Croatia with her grandparents today. She'll have an extra summer holiday week from school - I think she has deserved it. My parents take each of their grandchildren abroad on their confirmation summer, now it's Emma's turn. Since she played basketball all summer they weren't able to travel until now. Emma reported it is sunny and +35°C in Split.

Hubby is in sailing competition Helsinki Tallinna Race with his friends Olli (skipper) and Teemu. Olli's boat competed in LYS 1 class. They crossed the finish line at 05:03 today (at the same time Emma was picked up from home) and their position is 5th, which was an awesome achievement - in all 43 boats competed in the same class.

Me and Leevi drove to Mänttä to enjoy visual arts. We visited Mänttä Art Festivalart museum Gösta and museum Gustaf. In the picture is Kalle Mustonen's art work Death of the Gnome King – Afterlife. 8,5 m long creature is made of laminated veneer studs and rough fir lumber. Inside the wooden gnome is a cabin people can enter. The extra shot shows how Leevi fitted inside! We really enjoyed everything we saw and experienced. As a bonus we savoured the perfect weather.

Later in the evening I had an evening walk with Sami, my niece Ilona joined me to the second round around the Vähäjärvi lake, which was great.

+19°C, mostly sunny
