I went to a local museum to see an exhibition on the life of Gertrude Bell, but realised that a wet Saturday afternoon during the school holidays was not the best time to navigate my way around the very text-heavy displays through a lot of children with clipboards and project sheets. This sadly decaying hulk is in the grounds, awaiting such time as the local authority has the funds to do some conservation or restoration. It's not very likely.

Before I went out I watched Liam Heath win Gold in the kayak 200m sprint - hurrah!! Extra shows him hugging his wife after the medal ceremony, with Lin, his mum, almost bursting with pride on the left of the picture, waiting for her turn.
