End of an era

After 54 years my Mum's Prestcold fridge has finally come to the end of the road. It has been in the kitchen ever since the house was built and is older than me !!!

But last week it began to overheat and that was the beginning of the end.

Prestcold fridges were built in Cowley, Oxford and were renown for their durability and good design ! Prestcold was absorbed into BMC in 1966 which became part of British Leyland in 1969 and then presumably production ended.

I hope that it will end its days in some museum of days gone by.

Hopefully tomorrow's blip will be a little more special ;-)
