Never stopped raining today, still hasn't. But managed some shopping, a walk on the beach with the dogs and lunch! Then later a band gig I was sure would be cancelled due to weather. A Michael Collins memorial event at Sam's Cross, near where he came from. The band was stuffed into the back of the bar and the sound was rather loud given that brass bands are usually not best in confined spaces. There was much mayhem outside, the 100 year old armoured car Sliabh na mBan which Collins was travelling in the day he was ambushed and killed in 1922.  A Silver Ghost Rolls Royce, a fleet of Model Ts and a few horses and carts. Lots of curious kids, no roads properly closed off as, a sure 'twill be grand way  of doing it was the rule of the day, so mayhem and horseboxes and near misses and burgers (the chef with a cigarette dangling) and lots of rain.
