Sights Seeing

After yesterday's sedentary day, we had already decided to inflict some Cornish Heritage on Cousin B. The "Evil Twins" were all a bit teenage grump at being dragged out into the fresh air instead of another day at the X Box but they soon cheered up.

First up was Levant Mine on the North Coast near St Just.  First we went along the tunnel to the Man Engine and had a lovely chat with a guide, not realising that H&S has gone mad and you HAVE to have a guide in the tunnel bit since a visit on Friday.  However, by the entrance it was perfectly ok for youngsters to wield lump hammers and smash rocks without supervision...

We enjoyed 2/3 of a superb tour by one of the guides but after an hour (!) Smallest and Princess were getting restless so we went wandering.  Well worth a visit and try to get the tour by Richard ;-)

By now the kids were starving so we hot footed it to Marazion and just made it across the causeway as the sea started to lap over the edges.  Unfortunately we were too late for food so had to make do with another cream tea/cake.

Home for a slap up tea of bread, cheese, meats and pate and a bit of cross dressing by the BF, the Boy and Cousin B.  I have hit the wine to cope and am about to start rewatching series 1 of Poldark in preparation for 4th September.  I am reading the books and am on the final book so have no idea what happened in books 1&2 (series 1) anymore!
