The narrow streets of Girona

Lovely old city with tall buildings and narrow streets providing shade which was most welcome as it was 30 degrees plus. Only downside of visiting on a Sunday is that most of the car parks were closed which maeant that we were constantly signaling to pull into a car park and then aborting as there would be a chain across the entrance. Most shops were closed as well but I consider that a good thing.

Our apartment is German owned and with the exception of ourselves I think all of the guests are German. I comment only because of what this means for the food on offer in the restaurant, i.e. a bias towards pork and huge portions. I had steak last night and it was the equivalent of two meals at home - two 8oz steaks, a large portion of fries, shredded white and red cabbage,c crispy fried onions and a side salad and all for 13 euros.
