A Bad Start To A GREAT Day!

Hello Blipfriends!
Dolly reporting - still from Denmark!

This morning did NOT start out well when I found out that this was the day that I had to go to a vet to be given the special tapeworm treatment that is required so that the UK lets me back in. It had to be done within 5 days of returning. The hotel helped find a vet and off we went. When we did this in May the vet used a pill that was soft and chewy and really yummy so it didn't feel like I was getting medicine at all. The vet this time forced a yucky pill all the way down my throat!  That was just RUDE, don't you think?

After that mum promised me ice cream, so off we went to the harbour in Fredericia. It ended up being an odd and wonderful place all at the same time. They are developing the area with new flats and shopping/dining areas but until that project is underway they are building a temporary area of bars and shops and cafes, mostly out of old containers. Very funky and 'urban'!  Also, there is a type of allotment garden area, called 'Grow Your City' where people can rent boxes for 25 Danish Kroner a season, and plant it up with whatever they want. There were rows and rows of them so we went on a kind of garden tour. Some were very creative and even made little 'rooms' by surrounding a patio or decking area with the boxes, like walls. Chairs, benches, barbecues - you get the idea!  The people who rent the boxes have a communal meal every Tuesday. I suppose some of the future residents of the flats are doing this as a way to get to know their future neighbours?

Mum thought it was hilarious making me sit on this piano stool. I wasn't so sure!  But the flowers reminded me to remind Mum that she had promised me an ice cream so that is what we did next - eating it outside before the rain came. It's a good thing we didn't have lunch!  We wouldn't have had room for the ice cream!  We don't think they understand the concept of small sizes here in Scandinavia!

It was obvious that we weren't going to be getting very far in our journey home today. Mum decided she needed to find somewhere to stay south of here even if it was only an hour or two. And then lo and behold after some research on Bookong.com she said: "Guess what, Dolly?  We're going camping!!"

And this is what we ended up in!  A camping cabin on a camping site just north of the Danish/German border. Yay!!  Almost as good as staying in a tent!  This is their economy cabin of 4 different categories. This one sleeps 3-5 and has a kitchen and dining area but no bathroom or toilet. No worries!  We're campers!  Thanks, Mum!
