The Sands of Time

The four of us went to Borgarfjörður Eystri - over the mountain and into the next fjord. From the mountain pass I took this picture of Gulla and Danni looking over the sands.
The first time The Good Wife and I came here in 1989 this was all sand, but now Icelanders are helping nature to recover. Iceland is slowly beginning to look like it did when the first settlers came here - with trees from the shore to the mountain's top - but our forefathers made coal out of it - otherwise we would not bee here today.
