Dawyck House

Today was the day for the August visit to Dawyck Botanical Gardens.  It was a hot sunny day here and the shade from the trees was most welcome.

The drama of the spectacular spring and early summer flowers and blossom has gone.  The berries are filling and are starting to turn but are a long way from the autumnal vibrant red.  And the leaves are solidly green.  In some senses it is a quiet, contemplative place at the moment with the majesty of the trees holding most interest.

It will all change soon.

The blip is of the house which remains under private ownership though they passed the gardens over to the nation.  It is in a wonderful setting.
