Every Picture Tells .....

Diane

Whilst you have all been enjoying the sunshine, I have been stuck inside behind a computer for the last two days. You can't ever do too much for a good employer.

Today I managed to put things right with site visits both morning and afternoon.

One of my stops was at The Greenwood Centre in Dewsbury where Diane, the library manager, was hosting a small leaving event for close colleagues and volunteers.

There are some big changes being implemented to the library service at the beginning of September. They includes the appointment of some new managers, changes in hours and greater involvement from community volunteers.

Diane, who is like a dog with a bone when it comes to health and safety and environmental issues, has been a fab person to work with, always bursting with enthusiasm, finding practical solutions and sharing my sense of humour with some of the events and characters that have crossed our path over the last couple of years.

When it comes to H&S and "slip and trip hazards", I'll always remember Diane for having the slipperiest shoes in the world, because,  after  having the centre kitchen floor cleaned three times with specialist equipment and then cleaning it again with a scouring pad, she could still skate round the room in her red shoes whilst, however hard I tried, I remained firmly rooted to the spot.

Good luck Diane in your "retirement". You will be missed by the community, and especially by the children.
