Horse Isles Bay

A group of us walkers were down on the Solway Firth today near Dumfries.  We were checking out a route for the club from Palnackie and down to Almorness Point and back.

It was a glorious day, with a light wind at times.  The terrain was quite difficult at times, but we all enjoyed it very much and the views of the sands on the Solway and over to Rockcliffe and further down to Cumbria were quite stunning.  We sat for a while having our lunch at Horse Isles Bay, a beautiful sandy beach.

After our walk we drove back to Dumfries and had a lovely meal in the Cairndale Hotel, before our drive back home.
