Trout to feed the masses

Local English friends, R&V, suggested we joined them for a picnic at a local fishing spot where they knew the owners after visiting the Loubaresse fair. Today was the day. The fair was so so with a lot of classic French market tat but a few interesting local stalls, including the man who did our roof who now makes wine from a banned variety of grape, Jacquet.
On then for a civilized and huge picnic before picking up the rods and trying to catch some trout. Grasshoppers proved much better bait than the proferred sweetcorn and eventually  everyone had caught a fish. H had to be persuaded to hold one for this photo but couldn't be persuaded to eat one in the evening. The rest appreciated some fresh fish cooked on the barbecue. The freezer also contains more....
