Borough Market

I am to street photography what Teresa May is to civil liberties (if you're American, Donald Trump). Nevertheless, sometimes you've just got to give it the old college try. Borough Market is an iconic place - which means that the wannabe street photographers outnumber even the tourists - but there's still something special about this thousand year old market in the shadow of Southwark Cathedral. I was very tempted to go for "Backstage at Borough Market" (extra), but this shot won in the end - because of the continuity of a millennium of haggling over the price of a loaf of bread, although it didn't cost five quid a loaf a thousand years ago.
