Lower Than Atlantis

I managed to get another opportunity to photograph a great band live tonight.

Lower Than Atlantis were playing the O2 Academy in Oxford as a warm up for their appearance on the main stage at reading and Leeds Festivals this coming weekend.

With it being one of the hottest days of the year, and Lower Than Atlantis being a really popular new band the venue was rammed, and you could feel the heat as you went up the stairs to the venue. It was properly hot in there, probably one of the hottest, sweatiest gigs I have been to in a long time.

The band are on it. Properly on it. They were very good, great stage presence, really got everyone bouncing and put in a great set.

I thought I would try something a bit different with this set, and have done them in B&W. The lighting was really very challenging. Very low, highly saturated colour and very stabbed with its use, so it made focusing and measuring exposure really difficult. They do look good with a bit of grain on them too ;)
