Sgwarnog: In the Field

Floating

I extended my weekend by a day for summer holiday child coralling duties. It was 4yo's turn to lead us for a walk on the moor. She wanted to head to the top, and we went via the large ponds on Low Plain hoping for dragonflies. No dragonflies, but the Yellow Water-lily added a touch of serenity to the scene.

On the way up we saw a few Gatekeepers and a couple of Small Tortoiseshell, which were the first of the new brood that we'd seen on the moor. 7yo has picked up on the photography bug, and is also doing his best to creep up creatures with camera in hand, but when he gets the pictures home he's more interested in exploring processing effects.

I'm back to work for the rest of the week tomorrow, and then a couple of weeks off. Hopefully there will be some summer in my summer break.
