Dartmouth Regatta

In the past few years, I've often avoided going into Dartmouth during Regatta week as there's nowhere to park, but this year is the first since I acquired a bus pass. So today, Mr PP and I took the bus there and back and spent a fun couple of hours wandering round. In this collage you can see the Royal Castle Hotel, where the former Miss PP wed Mr B a year ago, a preserved vintage fishing trawler from Brixham with its distinctive red sail, the steam train that chuffs to and fro between Kingswear and Paignton, four rowing teams competing in the last event of the day (Dartmouth won!), some bright canoes, whose colours made them look fruit-flavoured - they're passing in front of one of Dartmouth Riverboats - in fact, the very one we hired for part of our daughter's wedding day, the Dartmouth Explorer - and, finally, the paddle-steamer, which is the only coal-fired one in the UK. Decided that a collage was the only way to do justice to this busy annual event.

Might go back tomorrow ...
