Olympic Bear.

I'd forgotten we'd bought this as he's kept in his box on top of the wardrobe, then Eddie licked him and I remembered why! There were 2012 bears made with this colour ribbon, 2012 with green and 2012 with pink ribbon. He's handmade by Merrythought, Britain oldest remaining teddy bear factory, based in Ironbridge. He's based on a design from the last British Olympics in 1948.
It sparked one of the children's unexpected conversations when my husband joked it would be a family heirloom. They argued that whoever was married with children first would inherit the bear! I know they think we're old but discussing their inheritance! It really made us laugh. Teasing each other about who they'll marry is one of their favourite subjects at the moment.
So here's our Olympic bear, our family heirloom, it's the only one we've got.
