When in Wisconsin ...

We decided to have a quiet day and let our tired bodies rejuvenate. Left Eau Claire around 11 am and found a wonderful authentic Norwegian restaurant in Rice Lake where we enjoyed a lefse and scrumptious slice of homemade blue ribbon pie. Headed west to Comstock and visited the creamery that makes Blaser's Premium cheese. Read that if you visit Wisconsin and don't buy cheese, you have no one to blame but yourself. So we bought some for our children, my sister, my parents as well as for our dinner. Had to purchase a cooler to keep it refrigerated till November - won't that be fun! But they assured us it will be fine. From there, we went north to the Chateau St. Croix winery and vineyard. What a pleasant visit - our host led us through an informative tasting, neglected to charge for same and discounted our wine purchases. This picture may not be as exciting as my others, but the experience was just as grand.
