Home!

Flew home via Dubai....
We left at midnight and got back at midday.
Last night we went for a last dinner at Di Mare at Karma Kandara, we had done most of the packing and just had swimwear and hand luggage to go.
We were having a lovely dinner until Gulliver ate some hazelnuts that we didn't know were in his ice cream, he is allergic to them and also seeds but we have never seen the reaction so bad!
His lips and throat swelled up, and ulcers came up in his mouth,he went into a panic and was having trouble breathing, that's when we discovered there was no medical centre or medicines on the resort, it's on a cliff top and not very accessible, Max went to the chemist with a staff member while Zebedee and I tried to keep him calm, we went into the air conditioned wine room and were given lots of cold damp towels, then his stomach started churning so I took him to the loo where he had a bad time, once back at the restaurant reception he vomited violently all over the floor, his throat was so swollen by this time and his breathing sounded very scary.
Zebedee slipped in the sick and ripped his big toe nail.
We met Max back at the villa and dosed him up with anti histamines, lemsip, throat spray and pastilles and sat him down while Gede and Wangi helped us pack up.
At this point we had 30 minutes before leaving for the airport, we decided to go for it and hope for the best although his throat was still horribly swollen and he was totally congested.
We set off with Gede and about 20 minutes into the drive a motorcyclist crashed into the side of the car and then bounced under another vehicle, we stopped and Gede and Max got out, I kept the kids in the car with me, Zebedee had seen it all and had had the slow motion experience of it that we have when really stressed.
Thank goodness the man was wearing a helmet and survived and was calling for help when we left. Nightmare!
The queues for check in, security, passport control etc were awful and took 2 hours with poor Gulli feeling terrible and also now itching all over.
Finally we boarded the plane, Gulli slept a lot but we didn't, his lips were so swollen he looked like he'd had Botox.
He improved throughout the journey...
I will be taking him to the Doctor on Monday for proper testing and will get epi pens and medicines in place which we will need to keep on us at all times in future.
Such a relief to be back after all this, I was seriously considering staying in Bali with him at one point. What a brave boy.
