One careful owner

Today was the 48th Annual Garioch Vehicle Restoration Society rally in Oldmeldrum and, as usual, I made my way down to the Pleasure Park to take some photos. Sunny weather in the morning this year and a huge turnout of lovingly maintained vehicles - and lots of nice photos. So why pick an old black Ford Anglia for a blip when there was lots of shiny chrome and vintage cars about?

The following quotes taken from the display board next to this Anglia - sold by Huntly Motors - will hopefully go some way to explain :

"Ford Anglia 105e 1960 bought new by present owner. Everyday use until 2000. Engine overhaul 110,000 miles. Gear box, back axle paint original. Present mileage 188,000 . One owner 50 years September 2010."

"One owner since new. Oldest one owner 105E?"

Great to see a vehicle kept in running order so long and looking so good after all these years - it couldn't have wished for a better owner.
