Birds Eye View

By far the best day of the week, weather-wise, though the shows were mixed with the best and worst of the week.

We started with breakfast at Mimi's Bakehouse on the Shore, with a walk there and back before the first show.  Then to the Box Office for tickets to a comedy act, and to the venue to find fewer than 10 people at the show.  It was all a bit awkward.  He chatted to me at one point, then used my name repeatedly - you know what I mean Xander?  Do you agree Xander?  A fair bit of forced laughter proving that 'BBC Comedy Award Finalist' probably applies to everyone who enters.

Afterwards, we took a break from the Fringe and spent some time in Princes Street Gardens, took a ride on the ferris wheel and got a picnic lunch (with cocktails) from M&S.

Later in the afternoon, we were back in a show - this time, the winners of Sweden's Got Talent.  Easily the best magic show of the week.  They make things vanish and appear in front of your eyes.  For one trick, they had Holly on stage, made her ring disappear, then it turned up inside a gum ball machine that had been sitting at the side of the stage the whole time.  Here's a sample from a TV show on YouTube.

On the way out, I checked the programme and found that another magic act was on later.  The real trick though was that the magic act had transformed into a jazz band.  Ok, so I read the programme wrong, but we decided to go for it anyway.  It wasn't bad, we just aren't fans of jazz.

After all of those shows, we took a walk to Inverleith Park, then back via Tesco for some food for dinner.
