House angel, pot by Renee, brass angel.

I adopted the house angel when I was looking for a house. I think it was meant to be a Christmas ornament.

Renee probably made thousands of little black-and-white bowls before she was done. She called them universal bowls because "you can put anything in them." I bought several, and she gave me this one, unusual in that it has those elegant legs.

Maryanne gave brass angels to friends who helped her during an illness. I was surprised to receive one, not being one of the hausfraus who brought meals and cleaned and ran errands. I didn't think I'd contributed anything. She said, "You took me for walks, and you listened."
