Picasso

We went to the laid back town of Karlstad today to go to a naturum by a wetland.  There are a number of naturums in Sweden, all of them in interesting places and all of them in interesting buildings. They tell you about the nature reserve or national park in which they are situated and have plenty of information, often in English. The extra is of a dragonfly on a board walk warming itself in the sun. In the evening we went to Kristinehamn on the shores of the Vänern to see the Picasso sculpture of the blip. Sadly it was raining but it is impressive in a gaunt sort of way. It is a 15 metre tall concrete sculpture, and part of the artist’s ‘Les dames de Mougins’ series of paintings and sculptures themed on his wife Jacueline. She must have been thrilled to see what a sharp nose her husband sculpted.
