Lady Bendalot

We saw some sun today and took full advantage of it, taking in a walk at the Botanics and a catch up with Jen and Cian, then up to the High Street to view the madness that is the Edinburgh Festival. We also managed to meet up with Grandma, Grandad, Caitlin and Dilan briefly.

We came across a rather bendy lady from the Netherlands who liked to contort her body into all sorts of bizarre positions. She was also a dab hand at spinning 5 hula hoops while balancing on one leg 7 feet off the ground. Miss A and Little D were quite quite fascinated by the whole thing. When the street show ended and people were throwing money into her bag, Little D made a run for it and started playing with the hula hoops, much to everyone's delight. Everyone except Lady Bendalot, who asked if there was a steward who could look after her hula hoops as she didn't want anyone touching them. Bendy - yes. Uptight - definitely.

It was then a race home to get the kids fed and me changed as I had a girls night out planned with Esther, H and Expatmama. A drink at the Spiegeltent, dinner at Cafe Andaluz and a late night tipple at the Thistle Bar for me and Esther before crashing just after 3am. It was a great night out and most definitely worth the following day's suffering.
