One of my favourite Surrey WIs invited me to their annual Sandwich Lunch. Not only do they produce an interesting array of sandwiches, they offer a selection of desserts to die for. There's a paperback sale, a tombola, a "guess the weight of the cake" competition (I was only 2 lb out!) and a quiz involving pictures of medal winning athletes (you can see them on the canes). Not only did the athletes have to be identified, we had to say their sport and where and when they won their medals. Far too difficult, but nevertheless a very pleasant afternoon. And it didn't rain!
