Man at Work

This patch of border outside our kitchen door has been problematic in recent years as it gets overgrown with brambles and creeping buttercup.  So I have wanted to do something with it which will make it easier to manage and will also be a pleasant outlook when I'm working in the kitchen.

Tony has been preparing the ground over the last couple of days, taking out the topsoil and replacing it with sand from the bedrock in the allotment, which should deter weeds.  Today he has put a weed suppressant membrane down and I'd chosen blue slate bits to go on top.  The bird bath has been moved to here and hopefully will do better not being under the elder tree.  Eventually there will be seasonal pots placed here, but for now the dahlia pots are adding a touch of colour.

The finished project is here!
