Mums

Over to Edinburgh this morning.

I had to take paperwork to lodge in court to progress to the next stage in sorting out my late mum's estate. As always in these situations I expected to have the paperwork rejected on account of some (real or fabricated) mistake. But they accepted it first time...

Very strange. Maybe my timing was right - just before lunchtime on Friday and the chap didn't want to be held back. The fee was £225, so that made my eyes water a bit.

So then I started to think about my own lunch - to celebrate a wee victory.

Where better than Mum's, just around the corner from the court. It specialises in old fashioned, British home cooking. Pies. Sausage and mash.

Great choice. Loved the venison pie (Extra). Won't need much dinner tonight.
