Pembrey Gunnery Dome

As part of the Open Doors scheme we were able to go inside the Pembrey Gunnnery Dome which was used during WW2 to train Air gunners. Between June 1941 and June 1945 over 3,000 were trained on two months courses. It forms part of the Pembrey Mountain Trust whose aim is to preserve the architectural heritage that exists in and around Pembrey. It aims to identify buildings or structures that are dilapidated and in need of refurbishing and form part of the area's historical legacy. It was of particular interest to me as my father had been a rear gunner during the war.

Thanks everyone for your stars and comments on yesterday's blip, sorry I didn't reply individually.
