The DMU at Northiam about to depart for Bodiam.

Apologies for the tardiness of this blip journal entry.

Spent the day as crossing keeper at Northiam. An interesting day with the usual Saturday service supplemented by a wedding charter on the Wealden Pullman which travelled up and down the line as guests enjoyed the wedding breakfast. At Northiam the train waited alongside platform 2 while a duet entertained guests with some well chosen songs. Duties prevented me from intruding on events to snap a shot.

From Match to Dispatch - at the other end of platform 1 a small group of people gathered to scatter the ashes of John Bourne, a recently deceased member of the K&ESR who was at one time station master at Northiam. Just prior to scattering his ashes a short service was held in the memorial garden adjacent to the station where his name joined others on a wall of remembrance built from railway sleepers.

All we needed to complete the set was a Hatch, but that eluded us today.
